How we started…

Steve and his brother, Rick, started a furniture business in Ayamonte about 15 years ago. All was going well until the 2008 financial crisis when it was as though someone had “switched the lights off”. Suddenly no-one was buying properties, the market collapsed. Also around this time Rick sadly passed away, Steve was ready to return to the U.K.

Meanwhile Debbie, a mortgage underwriter in her previous life, had also been affected by the property crash. Following redundancy in the U.K. she was working the summer in her brother’s bar.

They met in 2009…and the rest is history!!! NO seriously, they were looking for ways to continue working outside the U.K. and a chance conversation with Emma and Mike at Tavira Auction resulted in them taking it over.

Slowly, very slowly sometimes, things progressed from a second-hand auction. We started doing house clearances, then bought pallets of returns and end of lines. We started importing full containers and new furniture. There have been lots of successes and a fair few failures along the way, including having to move location.

Where we are now…

Finally, we now feel settled, we’ve got the perfect location on the EN125 (between Livramento and Alfandango) and sell all styles of furniture, from modern and sleek to traditional or cottage friendly. We have a great range of sofas, beds and mattresses. All at pocket friendly prices. We also offer a large range of outdoor patio furniture.

We have long standing working relationships with both Portuguese and Spanish suppliers and also import from the U.K. weekly. Our aim is to stock everything you may need for your home, from sofas, sofabeds, dining sets, occasional furniture, beds, mattresses and bedroom furniture to garden and terrace furniture. If you can’t see what you’re looking for – just ask, we’re here to help if we can.

Along with amazing value, we pride ourselves on our friendly customer service, aiming to leave clients with complete peace of mind, avoiding any burden or pressure to carry out any D.I.Y. themselves. All stock is fully assembled and delivered free of charge within the area, minimal charge for further afield and if it’s too far for us then we can also arrange courier delivery.
